7th Australasian Conference of Sustainable Further and Higher Education ACTS Conference

The 2007 ACTS Conference will be held in World Heritage listed Blue Mountains, between October the 3rd to 5th. This year's host institution is the Western Sydney Institute of TAFE, Wentworth Falls Campus, Blue Mountains.

Conference costs:

  • Full delegate registration (includes conference dinner) $400
  • Delegate single day registration $160
  • Delegate two day registration $320
  • Student two day registration $100
  • Conference dinner $120

Green Conference

Please note: The ACTS conference is a green conference and we ask delegates to bring your own note paper, pens, name tages and carry bag as these will not be supplied at the conference.

The ACTS conference Dinner

The dinner will be held on the 4th of October at the Carrington Hotel. The dinner is a black and white 20-30’s theme with a ragtime band, room props and decorations, feather boas and boiler hats! More information on the Carrington Hotel can be found at www.thecarrington.com.au

Accommodation

Grandview Hotel. A continental breakfast is included in the rates and it is only a 5-10 min walk to the TAFE College. Great budget accommodation for students.

Room breakdowns with shared Bathrooms are as follows:

  • 2 x single rooms Mon- Fri $45 p/n pr room
  • 6 x dbl rooms Mon-Fri $65 p/n per room
  • 3x family rooms Mon Fri $85 p/n per room
  • 4 x family rooms Mon-Fri $95 p/n per room

There are a number of options for transport. All timetables should be easy to find – you are looking for the Blue Mountains line timetables. Trains to Blue Mountains leave from Sydney Central Station.

  • The Transport info line – 131 500 Transport information line website for timetabling is www.131500.com.au
  • The Countrylink reservation centre for Blue Mountains Explorer link passes at reduced rates is 13 22 32 or the Cityrail website for country trains (Blue Mountains line is a country train) is www.countrylink.info
  • The Airport link www.airportlink.com.au takes you from or to the airport or Sydney central
  • TTY infoline for hearing and sight impaired is 1800 637 500
